How much does playing for Denver City Lax cost?
There is NO COST to players and families to participate in Denver City Lax. All programs and equipment are provided at no cost to increase access to the sport. City Lax families are encouraged to help with fundraising efforts organized by Denver City Lax.
What about equipment?
Denver City Lax provides all players who do not have equipment with all necessary equipment (Boys: helmet, gloves, stick, shoulder pads, elbow pads, mouth guard; Girls: stick, goggles, mouthguard) and uniforms to participate. All boys are highly, highly encouraged to wear an athletic cup. Boys and girls should also provide their own cleats (football, lacrosse, soccer). Denver City Lax does have new and gently used cleats but there's no guarantee we have your size available.
What if I have never played lacrosse?
Denver City Lax is about growing the game, so no lacrosse experience is necessary. Each year we start a new group of players at the 1st, 2nd, or 3rd grade levels. New players are welcome on older, returning teams (4th-8th grade); however, space can be more limited and players must be athletically motivated and/or athletically gifted.
Where do players live and go to school?
City Lax players come from a wide range of neighborhoods, mostly throughout Denver's northeast corridor. While many City Lax families live or attend school in the Park Hill area, City Lax has a history of working with numerous players that live throughout the metro area including Park Hill, Montbello, Green Valley, Aurora, Skyland, Clayton, Cole, Five Points, Whittier and other neighborhoods.
